‘Tis the season! With just a couple of days ’til Christmas, I’m sure that in the back of your mind, you’re wondering, ‘What do I get my friends this Christmas?’ Well, worry not, because I’ve got you covered! Here are my top 5 picks for easy breezy gifts you can get your family, friends, kris kringles, or absolutely anyone!
1. Low-maintenance Plants
I think that plants go for everyone. It’s a simple item that can freshen up your living space. Succulents, hydro culture plants, and air plants are best for gift giving because they require low maintenance! For more artistic or pinterest-worthy plants and plant boxes, I highly recommend that you go check out Ere Plants. They have a lot of options that can satisfy your aesthetic goals. For a cheaper alternative, you can go check out Miura, a one stop shop for hydro culture plants. You can check out the plant I bought from them over here. But if you truly believe that the person you’re planning on giving a gift to is hopeless in the green thumb department, then I recommend getting a fake desk plant instead which you can buy at the home section in SM Department stores.
2. Coffee Mug
Coffee, Tea, or Me? *wink* Personally, I don’t drink coffee nor tea, but I think that mugs can serve as a good gift for anyone. Just make sure you find a cute one that you think would fit your friend’s taste! You can get cute mugs from Starbucks, Zara Home, H&M Home, SM Department Store, or basically any home decor store!
3. Mason Jars
This is a good alternative for coffee mugs. Not everyone drinks coffee or tea, but everyone drinks water; and water looks hella good on a mason jar! Plus mason jars can be used for a multiple number of things (e.g. Juices, Milkshakes, Kitchen Containers, Desk Organizers, etc.). If you head on over to bazaars I bet you that you’ll be able to find stalls with variations of Mason Jars. They usually sell these at dozens or half dozens, meaning you can give these away to a number of friends!
4. Designer Socks
Having hot weather throughout the year, Christmas season becomes an excuse for us Filipinos to dress a bit more winter appropriate. And whether you’re in a relationship or a member of SMP (Samahan ng Malamig ang Pasko), you can still enjoy the cuddle weather. Give your friends some comfy socks to rock this holiday season! The great thing about socks is that they are diverse. (For girls) You can find the cutest and fluffiest socks over at Forever21 and H&M. (For guys) You can get designer socks over at Iconic Socks, Happy Socks, Proppy, and other retail stores!
5. 2017 Planner
For most people, I know that a planner serves as a guide for your days to come; but for me, a planner serves as a journal or a memoir of what happens in my day to day life. I like to put in stickers and photos all over my planners. My personal preference is the Slate Planner which you can get at any National Bookstore or Fully Booked bookstore. The Slate Planner is also gender neutral so it’s good for those secret santa unisex gifts. For girls, I think the cutest planners available in the metro can be found at Typo. You can find all sorts of planners depending on the giftee’s interests. Let me list down a couple of good ones for you guys:
For the frequent traveler – WhereToNext
For the dainty friend – Typo
For the witty/hugot friend – Witty Will Save the World
For the creative friend – Slate 2017
For the minimalist – Muji
Ho ho ho, Secret Santas! I hope this post helped you in your Christmas Shopping dilemmas! Let me know if it has. 🙂 Happy holidays to you and your family, and may you have a fruitful year ahead!
