Post-graduate jitters seem to have finally sunk in. Responsibilities, surely enough, have been taking over my life. Not that I’m complaining because I knew what I was getting into… except that I didn’t. Ever since 2016 started, I have been living an independent life. Days have been cluttered in budgeting, bills, food, and exercising. I survived the past 7 months in a seemingly nonchalant manner. What a facade, eh?
Truth be told, being independent isn’t what it’s cut out to be. In a span of seven months, I’ve come to realize a few things:
- Freedom is an illusion;
- Money is constantly fleeting from my fingertips;
- Being alone does not equate to being lonely.
Imagine the horror of having to juggle all of these with an addition to the recipe: The Real World. Truth be told, I am terrified. This is the culmination of sixteen years worth of schooling. I guess all I can really hope for is to find an environment that suits me and help me grow. Wish your now-adult friend some luck.
WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD! IT SUCKS! YOU’RE GONNA LOVE IT!
